GRADING KEY - ULAT 5.18
The grading of the lesson 5.18 test requires a certain degree of flexibility because of the variety of ways in which time can be expressed, from a country using the 12-hour system to those using the 24-hour means of expressing time, and even allowing for a variety of ways to express time within the same country. Below, therefore, is a very broad proposed approach, though it is certainly open to modification by the instructor based upon the form he or she desires the students to use:
- The time as it is expressed would not be understood by a native speaker = -1 pt.
- Although comprehensible, there are one or more errors of word order = -1 pt.
- There are one or more spelling mistakes in the way in which time has been expressed = -1 pt.
- (Instead of missing an entire point, as mentioned above, reduce score by just 1/2 for any missing accent mark.)
- Pts. per item = 3 pts.
- Items not completed within the time limit = - 3 pts. per item
- Number of items per test = 20
- Total points = 60
