ULAT are initials which stand for Universal
Language Acquisition Tool. The ULAT is a language teaching tool designed to teach any foreign language to a learner who speaks any native language. Unlike most traditional classroom instruction, the ULAT replicates in its approach the natural means by which you learned your native language. Its first eight units of study are exclusively oral in nature. Unless you are studying under a teacher who opts to advance through the ULAT interspersing oral instruction with subsequent written instruction, you hear the language you are studying and you speak it with increasing fluency, but you will never see it in print or write it until you have a solid base of speaking and listening skills. Units 9 and 10 review in written form the subjects of the first eight units. Unit 11 contains video and book studies in the language you are studying. Unit 12 leads you to write autobiographically in your new language.
